Based on roadrunner, there are some minor things solved in 7.3. However, that script does nothing with your network settings.

I am wondering why your shield does not retain the settings. Did you loose settings after a restart / power loss?

If so, can you try the following from CLI:

mkdir /tmp/test
mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 /tmp/test
ls -al /tmp/test
umount /tmp/test
rmdir /tmp/test

this will temporarily mount the boot sector to the /tmp/test folder and then list the files.
Can you post the file structure reported, it should look something like
