Hello,
After more than 2 years I am getting into my Shield.
This device was gathering dust and now i am getting into it.
I have connected it in the following manner:
Modem-->Nighthawk R8000-->managed switch-->Shield-->unmanaged Switch-->laptop
So eth0 is connected to my switch and eth2 to my unmanaged switch. Therefore the Shield
is in router mode.
I have upgraded the firmware to version 1.51 SP1.
First time i powered it on, after some delay, it worked and i have internet connection.
My pihole, installed on a Pi zero, is also integrated in my home network.
Did some speedtest without the shield and with the shield.
Without the shield and without pihole on average, Down: 223,01 Mbps Up: 31,03 Mbps
Without the shield and with pihole on average, Down: 307,21 Mbps Up: 31,08 Mbps
Shield + pihole, Down: 34,64 Mbps Up: 31,05 Mbps
In the forum I saw that Grommish had throughput of 800 Mbps.
Let me say that i am not a tech savy person, but I have some basic skills in linux.
Coming to this point what I want to ask is where to go from here.
I browsed the forum, but it seems a lot of info is scattered.
If one can give me a good starting point where i can take it further.
There is a version 2 of the firmware and I would like to get there.
Oke, that's it for now...
