actually: I bought this on kickstarter a while ago and just now sat down to try and use it.

I was quite suprised to find that the registration page doesn't work any longer!?

I then researched it and ended up here.

is there any hope for me? Should I just bin it? Does it even work? Is it worth it working on it?

Grab a console cable. Power it up. Attach the console output here. I'll look and see what needs to be done to fix it.

That's ok, once you have it, just plug in the console cable, and power on the shield and copy all the output to a text file and attach it here

Oddly, I'm in the same boat...  I've had this sitting on a shelf for months and months and now just was getting ready to play with it...   Of course, I left my USB to serial adapter with my test network stack at work.   AH well, guess I'll have to play tomorrow.  

Hopefully some of the kind forum members here can help get the latest firmware on a stock device so maybe I can get some use from it!

When you say stock is it running RC1 version or the newer SP1 version?
