Vanilla OpenWrt

Has anyone loaded a vanilla openwrt image onto a shield?

I know there are images for the octeon processor:  https://downloads.openwrt.org/chaos_calmer/15.05.1/octeon/generic/

Is there a way to replace the shield firmware with this stock openwrt image?
